Alice di Lady Gaga
Con Alice Lady Gaga rende omaggio al romanzo del 1865 Alice nel Paese delle Meraviglie, poi reso popolare dal cartone animato del 1951. La storia vede la giovane Alice addormentarsi e svegliarsi in un mondo fantastico e concettualizzato, pieno di personaggi immaginari e antropomorfi, ognuno dei quali rappresenta un ostacolo nella vita da superare.
In questa canzone Lady Gaga esprime l’incapacità di Alice di trovare la pace interiore e il suo bisogno di sopravvivere alle difficoltà.
Inizialmente si pensava che la traccia riguardasse la cagnolina d’infanzia, scomparsa nel 2013, tuttavia Lady Gaga lo ha negato dopo aver rivelato diversi testi in un’intervista a Zane Lowe.

Commento ad Alice di Lady Gaga
Alice è la prima traccia del nuovo album ed è preceduta dalla breve intro Chromatica I, dalle sonorità fiabesche. I fan concordano sul fatto che si tratti di una buona opener. All’inizio non mi aveva convinta particolarmente, ma dopo un po’ di ascolti mi è rimasta in testa. Il ritornello è particolare e in alcuni punti ci sono dei riferimenti al primo album The Fame. Alcune sezioni sono proprio pensate per essere ballate, sono sicura che farà parte della setlist dei concerti dal vivo. Infine, adoro il riferimento letterario!
