The Weeknd: il nuovo album “After Hours”

The Weeknd, artista canadese multiplatino e vincitore di ben tre GRAMMY Awards, ha annunciato a sorpresa la data di uscita del nuovo attesissimo album, “After Hours”, in programma per venerdì 20 marzo 2020 e già disponibile per il preordine su iTunes, Apple Music e su Spotify.

Contemporaneamente all’annuncio, è stata pubblicata anche la title track e il terzo singolo promozionale per il quarto album in studio “After Hours”, prodotta da The Weeknd, DaHeala & Illangelo, un brano dalle atmosfere notturne in cui l’artista ripensa alla sua amata, agli errori commessi durante la relazione, e a quanto sia disposto a cambiare pur di non lasciar più andar via l’amore della sua vita. Inoltre, le vibrazioni oscure ricordano gli stili visti sulla musica precedente di Abel datata 2012. La traccia è anche tematicamente simile alle canzoni di quell’epoca, poiché si concentra ancora una volta sul dolore e l’angoscia associati a sofferenze sentimentali.

L’annuncio segue il successo dei primi due singoli, “Heartless”, che ad oggi conta oltre 163 milioni di streaming su Spotify e 45 milioni di views su YouTube, e “Blinding Lights”, con oltre 359 milioni di stream su Spotify e 33 milioni di views su YouTube e certificato disco d’oro. Risultati incredibili a testimoniare un successo inarrestabile e una crescente attesa nel pubblico di tutto il mondo. Ad oggi, nella sua carriera, The Weeknd ha posizionato 9 brani all’interno della Top 10 della Hot 100.
