La 28a edizione dei Critics Choice Awards si è svolta domenica sera al Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel di Los Angeles. La cerimonia annuale è parita con 14 nomination cinematografiche per “Everything Everywhere All at Once” che ha vinto 5 statuette compreso Miglio Film.
Chi ha presentato la serata dei Critics Choice Awards?
Chelsea Handler ha presentato la serata, subentrando all’attore Taye Diggs, che ha ospitato gli ultimi quattro anni della cerimonia di premiazione. Premi speciali sono stati consegnati a Janelle Monáe, che ha ricevuto il premio #SeeHer, mentre Jeff Bridges è stato premiato con il Lifetime Achievem.
Everything Everywhere All at Once
Il film di Dan Kwan e Daniel Scheinert si è portato a casa cinque statuette sulle quattordici nomination a cui era stato candidato. Tra le vittorie spiccano quelle delle categorie maggiori, Miglior Film e ancora, Miglior Regia, a cui si aggiungono quelle per la Miglior Sceneggiatura, Miglior Attore non Protagonista (Ke Huy Quan) e Miglior Montaggio.
Le assenze
Le due star di The Banshees of Inisherin, Colin Farrell e Brendan Gleeson, non erano presenti alla 28a edizione dei Critics Choice Awards di stasera, che premiano i migliori successi del cinema e della programmazione televisiva nel 2022. Entrambi sono risultati positivi al Covid, secondo una fonte dello studio.
Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett ha vinto il premio come migliore attrice per il suo ruolo in Tár. Nel film, Blanchett interpreta Lydia Tár, una compositrice ferocemente indipendente e di fama mondiale la cui stimata carriera crolla intorno a lei dopo essere stata accusata di molestie sessuali.

“È estremamente arbitrario considerando quante straordinarie esibizioni sono state fatte dalle donne non solo in questa stanza ma, sai… la straordinaria conversazione creativa. Non posso credere di essere quassù. Questo è ridicolo. Sono così vecchia”. “Perché non diciamo semplicemente che c’è tutta una serie di performance femminili che sono in concerto e dialogano tra loro? E fermare la corsa di cavalli televisiva di tutto questo. Posso dirtelo, ogni singola donna … in televisione, film, e ancora, pubblicità, pubblicità di assorbenti interni, qualunque cosa. Brendan Fraser
Fraser non era stato preso mmolto in considerazioni dai precedenti premi (che gli hanno preferito uno bravissimo Collin Farrell), ma ha prevalso domenica e ha sfruttato al massimo il suo momento sotto i riflettori. Dal momento in cui è stato chiamato il suo nome, è visibilmente emozionato nel suo discorso dopo la premiazione. Cosa ha detto? Ha ringraziato Darren Aronofsky per averlo riportato da ” il deserto”, ha osservato che “mi ci sono voluti 32 anni per arrivare qui” e ha detto alle persone che stanno lottando che “se anche tu puoi avere la forza di alzarti in piedi e andare verso la luce, accadranno cose buone”.
