Ve l’avevamo già annunciato qualche giorno fa, quando Kygo e Tina Turner lo resero noto sui social e oggi, 17 luglio 2020, il remix di What’s Love Got to Do With It è finalmente disponibile. La hit di Tina Turner, vincitrice di un Grammy nel 1984, vede nuova vita grazie a Kygo. Non ancora trentenne, il dj e produttore norvegese ha già all’attivo vari progetti che lo rendono celebre in tutto il mondo. Tra i suoi remix più famosi ricordiamo, ad esempio, Younger, con più di 63 milioni di visualizzazioni su youtube, I see the fire di Ed Sheeran e Midnight dei Coldplay.
Con le sue sonorità pop, una tastiera più marcata ed un sound più moderno il brano si agghinda di una nuova veste. Non per forza più affascinante, soprattutto per i grandi affezionati della dance anni 80, di cui, diciamocelo, Tina Turner era la regina. Con Kygo invece queste sonorità del passato vengono abbandonate, soprattutto nel ritornello. Se nelle strofe infatti la voce della Turner la fa ancora da padrona, accompagnata da una base meno invadente, nel ritornello invece è Kygo a dirigere il gioco.
Covid permettendo, ci aspettiamo di sentire il pezzo in tutte le discoteche del mondo quest’estate.
