Il 2018 è iniziato da meno di una settimana ed in campo musicale italiano ed internazionale sono già tanti gli artisti che stanno rilasciando nuova musica, e se in casa Italia ci ha pensato Emma con il nuovo “L’Isola“, per la musica internazionale ci ha pensato Justin Timberlake che oggi ha rilasciato il nuovo brano “Filthy“.
L’artista con il rilascio del nuovo brano, inaugura ufficialmente la sua nuova era musicale da grande protagonista. Il brano è il primo singolo tratto da Timberlake, il nuovo album che arriverà il prossimo 2 febbraio. Justin in una recente intervista ha rivelato che la nuova fase della sua carriera è iniziata pochi giorni fa, quando ha pubblicato un piccolo video che in modo dettagliato diceva la data d’uscita e dei piccoli frammenti dei brani che saranno contenuti nel disco tra cui un cameo di Pharrell, che chiaramente sarà coinvolto in qualche modo nel nuovo lavoro discografico.
“Filthy” inizia immediatamente con un impassibile momento di chitarra elettrica, che offre la promessa della RCA Records che il singolo si attenga a “tradizionale rock americano “, anche se la parola tradizionale si applica solo ai primi secondi: il brano si abbassa rapidamente in un electro beat duro, e se ciò non fosse abbastanza in contrasto con le chitarre che hanno aperto la melodia.Tutto il brano è strano e inizialmente stonato, ma alla fine il suo fascino è quasi chiaro.E ‘il tipo di primo singolo estratto dal nuovo album che richiede un secondo (o forse terzo) ascolto per essere compreso appieno. Proprio come “SexyBack” ha scioccato gli ascoltatori quando è arrivato, “Filthy” è in anticipo sui tempi e nella propria corsia, e pochissime persone potrebbero strappare una composizione così strana, ma Justin ci è riuscito perfettamente.
Allo stesso tempo, la canzone è stata resa disponibile su piattaforme di streaming e download store, e per promuovere al meglio il brano è arrivato anche il video ufficiale. Un comunicato stampa condiviso dall’etichetta discografica ha anche promesso che il video “Filthy” sarebbe stato “dance-heavy”, ma pochi potevano aspettarsi che sarebbe stato un robot a far da ballerino. Nel video Justin Timberlake veste i panni di Steve Jobs in quanto nella clip introduce la sua ultima invenzione, che si rivela essere un androide pop star sessuale che in realtà è molto simile al vero JT.
