Robert Fripp, leader e fondatore dei King Crimson, lo scorso inverno aveva dato alcuni importanti indizi riguardanti la pubblicazione di un’edizione speciale di In The Court of Crimson King. Tali indizi si concretizzeranno il prossimo 25 Ottobre, data del rilascio del nuovo boxset celebrativo dello storico debutto degli inglesi.
L’esordio dei Re Cremisi, pubblicato via Island/Atlantic Records il 10 Ottobre 1069, ha gettato le coordinate stilistiche del progressive: un innovativo linguaggio del rock costruito su arrangiamenti barocchi e tecnicismi corposi .
Il boxset
Nello specifico il nuovo cofanetto comprende: tre CD con nuovi mix stereo più un Blu-Ray con audio 5.1 remixato da Steven Wilson (noto musicista e produttore, fondatore dei Porcupine Tree).
Il set include anche materiale aggiuntivo a fianco dell’album classico, inclusa la versione in duo di I Talk to the Wind, un’edizione alternativa dell’LP con diversi mix, tracce strumentali, il mix originale dell’LP del 1969 e l’A e B-side dell’unico singolo estratto dal debutto, The Court of the Crimson King.
